2017 promises to be an exciting year for the luxury Swiss watchmaking industry. Some extraordinary timepieces have been released, which promise to set the tone for the coming months. Get ready to have your mind blown – these are team Kapoor Watch Company’s grail watches of 2017.
1. Rolex Cellini Moonphase- The biggest surprise of this year’s Baselworld was the Rolex Cellini Moonphase. It is the first moonphase complication from Rolex. The execution of the simplistic design in a signature Rolex fashion has made all the difference to the watch. In classic Rolex fashion this one has an automatic movement that is astronomically accurate to one day every 122 years. The Cellini Moonphase has an almost vintage feel to it, albeit with a contemporary take. Well done Rolex, you never fail to surprise us.
2. Bvlgari Finissimo Automatic- Probably the watch which has been covered by every single media house, be it print, or digital. It is no wonder then, that the Bvlgari Finissimo Automatic is a record holder, for possessing the slimmest automatic movement in the world. The brushed titanium body, adds to the charm of the timepiece. The Finissimo Automatic has surely made the Swiss based brands stand up and take notice. Bvlgari is redefining conventional codes of watchmaking.
3. Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar (Ref 5320G) No list at any major watch event in the world can be complete without a Patek Philippe timepiece. Baselworld 2017 was also witness to one such legend in the making, Ref. 5320G. The watch is a new perpetual calendar from Patek Philippe that threads that needle perfectly. The creamy lacquer dial with the applied Arabic numerals, the stepped lugs, and the clear indications for the day, date, month, leap year, day/night, and moonphase are a winning combination.
