There came the Toyota Supra, Bugatti EB110, and McLaren F1, all while the watch industry regained its footing after the quartz crisis. At the dawn of the new millennium, elegant curves and adrenaline were ingrained in designs across industries. In 2002, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kapoorwatch.com\/watches\/cartier\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cartier<\/a> unveiled the Roadster, which, as the name suggests, was a \u201cdriving watch\u201d nodding to the iconic Santos, launched nearly a century prior. Carrying Cartier\u2019s legacy of embracing architecture and unconventional design, the Roadster materialized the intersection between sport and style. Distinct, deliberate, and designed for style on and off the road. The original 2001 Roadster wasn\u2019t only defined by form but also by function. Its dial offered a concentric speedometer-inspired chapter ring, while its date magnifier at three o\u2019clock resembled the sporty curves of finned racecar taillights. However, the main attraction was the large, stylized conical winding crown inspired by radiators. The Roadster still draws aesthetic inspiration from automobiles. The speedometer, flashy fin taillights and engine design all sizzle down to a sporty and stylish watch. Case material options include full stainless steel, two-tone (stainless steel and yellow gold), and yellow gold. Pairing with these are strikingly elegant white and dark blue dials with Super-LumiNova Roman indexes. Following tradition, the inner chapter ring is centred against a circular guilloch\u00e9 outer. This is accompanied by the Roadster\u2019s signature date magnifier and conical winding crown. Apart from the stainless steel, two-tone, and yellow gold QuickSwitch\ufe0f bracelets, Cartier revs in a bold blue rubber strap for the blue-dial, stainless steel model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Geared Drive<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While countryside drives are best experienced with manual transmission systems, the Cartier Roadster runs on an automatic movement. The larger references receive the Calibre 1847 MC and the smaller receive the Calibre 1899 MC, they offer power reserves of 42 and 38-40 hours, respectively.
