Paneria is an industry legend with some of the greatest watches ever witnessed in the business. As a watchmaker, Panerai has established itself as a master of making exceptional timepieces and the all-new Luminor Chronograph series does exactly that. The new collection also features the all-new automatic chronograph caliber, the P.9200. The collection puts on display three different timepieces with dials in black, white, and blue colour and all made of stainless steel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to chronographs, there is not much expected out of Panerai<\/a>. It is after all, a brand that is especially known for its historically popular dive watches. However, the truth is quite different. The Italian watchmaker has a lot of experience in the chrono space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have the Mare Nostrum watches as exhibit. Rather recent examples are the 8-day power reserve timepieces based on P.2004 movement. FYI, this was the first big move the company as it decided to indulge into in-house movement in the 2000s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Panerai Luminor<\/a> Chronograph is made available in three steel references, each watch making the most of the Luminor\u2019s iconic case design by balancing it out with modern day design cues. The watchmaker made a very smart move by positioning the chronograph pushers on the left-hand side of the case. This, although an unconventional step, is a marvelous one given the the brand\u2019s atypical stand approach. The watches have a pleasingly balanced aesthetic, however, there is no getting around the fact that these are indeed some very big watches \u2013 44 mm in width and 15.65 mm in thickness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a watch enthusiast, a huge part of me is a tad bit shocked to see such a boost on the chronographs front from the Swiss watchmaker. Essentially, Panerai is a watchmaker primarily associated with robust, sturdy, and water-resistant tool watches. Panerai is a brand that is known for its tough and one of a kind watches. Merely a handful of watchmakers have been able to accomplish what Panerai has been able to. For such a brand to indulge into the intricate and rather technical realm of chronographs is really unexpected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nonetheless, it goes without a saying that this isn\u2019t Panerai\u2019s first rodeo. The brand has already tried and tested its mettle in this field. Over the years, its designs have transformed into recognizable shapes and dial designs to become widely known among the general public. Chronographs are popular, that is for sure, and the fact that a watchmaker like Panerai is opting to make more of these is absolutely great.
