Sublime, extraordinary, and classy, these are words that come as close as possible to describe the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin watch. It was launched in 2012 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the legendary watch. The watch sports a young attitude and a concoction of features such as the Calibre AP 2924, a tourbillon, and a power reserve of 70 hours. The timepiece itself is 41mm in diameter, has a water resistance of 50 meters, and has a sapphire crustal front and case back.
The Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-thin fashions a specular guilloche style dial that displays an improvement on the iconic ‘Tapisserie’ that seems to ripple away from the tourbillon placed at 6 o’clock. Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin is available in three different variations. The most popular one is the stainless steel case and bracelet with a purple dial, also known as ‘plum’. The other two are the rose gold version with a blue dial, and a platinum version with a smoky blue dial.
