Just few weeks back we brought you, news from Le Brassus based Audemars Piguet’s iconic Royal Oak Offshore 2018 iteration. Pushing the envelope in the run up to SIHH 2018, AP introduced yet another collection at the recently concluded Dubai Watch Week- women, please take note, this one is for you! Already a successful lineage (even though it started in 1995), the Millenary collection for AP has established itself outside the Royal Oak aura. The Millenary Collection for women is by far one of the most exquisite female timepieces in the luxury Swiss watch industry.
For 2018, Audemars Piguet has showcased the Millenary with the ‘Second Skin’ philosophy. To take the attractiveness of the watch to another level altogether, the new Millenary comes with a range of beautiful metal bracelets, which amplify the beauty of an already gorgeous timepiece. A new ‘Polish’ bracelet as compared to the earlier Milanese bracelet decorates two of the three Millenary models (white gold and rose gold). The intricacy of the Polish bracelet, in terms of the mesh-like design means that all the bracelets in the new Millenary are handmade, from start to finish.
Our personal favourite and the most visually stunning timepiece in the new Millenary 2018 collection is the ‘Frosted’ Millenary timepiece- the new ‘Opal’ a first for the Millenary, and the Frosted Gold finishing technique has been created in collaboration with Florentine jewellery designer, Carolina Bucci (also seen famously in the Royal Oak). The significant feature of the new Millenary is its shimmering sparkle, which is produced from a surface treatment process entrenched in an ancient gold “hammering” procedure, also called the Florentine technique.
