Panerai has launched quite a few new watches at Watches and Wonders 2021. We have seen the concept timepiece Submersible eLAB-ID, a watch made out of 98.6 per cent recycled material. We saw the release of its commercial version the Luminor Marina eSteel. We even saw some unique launched such as the much more wearable 42 mm Bronzo and the line of steel chronographs along with the brand-new automatic P.9200 chronograph mechanism.
This blog, however, is about Panerai’s all-new chrono Goldtech. This complication goes way back to the Mare Nostrum timepiece. The Mare Nostrum was first created in the year 1943 for the Italian Navy. The timepiece was in production till 1997. Panerai is really pushing its chronograph line this year. While the earlier released watch was in stainless steel, for this reference the brand opted for the proprietary gold alloy, Goldtech.
The All-New Panerai Luminor Chrono Goldtech Blu Notte PAM 1111

The new Luminor Chrono Goldtech Blu Notte or “Blue Night,” is 44 mm wide. Quite a size, I would say. The timepiece has retained the trademarked crown protection mechanism of Panerai. The timepiece has a pair of solid lugs as well. The watch gives off a very strong vibe, something that one should expect from a watchmaker like Panerai.

The water resistance on the timepiece is 50 meters only. It is thus advised to stay away from deep waters. The PAM 1111 comes with a sapphire crystal back instead of a closed back like in the stainless steel version. Another key difference lies in the strap. While the stainless steel version comes with a stainless steel bracelet, the Goldtech variant comes fitted with a blue leather strap. Panerai also throws in a complementary rubber strap.
The material used for making the case is known as Goldtech. The material, as mentioned earlier, is a proprietary gold alloy with increased amounts of copper as well as platinum. This results in a deeper and darker shade of rose gold and anti-fading qualities.
Getting Into The Details

Panerai Luminor Chrono Blu Notte PAM 1111 is 44 mm in width and 15.1 mm in thickness. The case is brushed Goldtech and the dial colour is night blue or ‘Blue Notte’ with a satine soleil sandwich structure along with white Super-LumiNova. The deep blue leather strap with a much-suited trapezoidal pin buckle in satin Goldtech complements the overall style of the watch. Lastly, the watch offers a water resistance of 50 meters.
On the movement front, the watch harbours an automatic Calibre P.9200, offering features like hours, minutes, seconds, and most importantly, the chronograph. The movement is 6.9 mm in thickness and 13/14 lignes in diameter. With a 42-hour power reserve, the watch is well equipped to help you get on with your day without any hiccups.
