Watch manufacturers under the LVMH umbrella are starting the year with a royal rumble. All of the LVMH watch brands reveal their newest creations at the digital watch expo. Names such as Hublot, Bulgari, TAG Heuer, and Zenith are all participating in the virtual event.
The LVMH Watch Week 2022
The show took place over a span of multiple days, during which all the above-mentioned brands hosted a series of presentations unveiling their watches.
We segregated the brand-new watches for you to view. Enjoy!
TAG Heuer
We’ll start off the list with TAG Heuer. The Swiss watchmaker is releasing brand-new TAG Heuer Autavia models in order to celebrate the watch’s 60 years in the industry. The collection debuts three new models, a steel flyback chronograph, a black DLC coated steel flyback chronograph, and last but not least, a three-hand GMT within the Autavia collection, which happens to be the first-ever in the history of the collection.
The Autavia Chronometer Flyback
TAG Heuer introduced the Autavia Chronometer Flyback, which brings the flyback feature into the Autavia collection for the very first time. The newly created Calibre Heuer 02 COSC Flyback manufacture movement takes the brand’s prowess in the domain of chronographs to a whole new level.
It’s a rarely seen function in chronographs due to how difficult it is to implement. The flyback feature allows to reset the chronograph hand and commence a new timing session without the need to stop it first. This makes it perfect for high-pressure situations.
The Autavia GMT
This new three-handed GMT Autavia, the first-ever GMT model in the collection is a perfect way to start the event. This is the perfect timepiece for those who like to travel, regardless of whether it is by road or by air. The watch immediately captures people’s attention with its brilliant blue sunray- brushed dial, a blue and black ceramic bezel, and a polished steel case.
Zenith
Zenith is a brand known for its chic designs and no-crap approach. In this event, it is aiming to express the idea of high-frequency precision timepieces through lights as well as colours.
The Defy Extreme Carbon
Yet another addition to the Zenith DEFY collection is here. This one happens to be slightly more intriguing than the one above. The DEFY Extreme watch is built to withstand earthly elements. The timepiece is also equipped with the world’s quickest automatic chronograph movement.
The Defy Skyline
The biggest news from Zenith this year is clearly about the DEFY collection, and in this case, it is the new DEFY Skyline. It further builds on the collection’s DNA of performance orientation.
The DEFY Skyline combines an evocative as well as classy design with an unprecedented function. Its faceted silhouette draws inspiration from previous DEFY watch references. The 41 mm steel case features sharply defined edges, a multi-faceted bezel, and a screw-down crown. The watch offers a water resistance of 100 meters.
Hublot
In all honesty, true stardom hit when Hublot started unveiling its gems. The Swiss avant-garde watchmaker is a prime example of not following the rules and making a separate path for itself. In this event, Hublot has launched numerous new watches. Some of these are brand new while some are renditions of iconic references.
The Big Bang Unico Golf Orange Carbon
Back in the year 2017, Hublot partnered with Dustin Johnson and introduced the world’s first-ever golf mechanical timepiece with an aperture display. This was the Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf. Now, you see, golf watches are digital. This watch, however, brought the joy of mechanical watchmaking to golfers’ wrists. It was simply something new.
Fast forward to 2022, and we have the Big Bang Unico Golf Orange Carbon that carries forward that story. The watch is cased in the game-changing Hublot MHUB1580 automatic movement in a lightweight as well as zesty orange carbon case.
The All-New Yellow Gold Collection
this series was aimed at recapturing the original essence of the watch brand. The fusion of the precious metal gold with the rather normal black rubber is the sporty-chic aesthetic that made Hublot popular in the first place. Additionally, this was at a time when such a concept didn’t exist.
Each of these six new models in this series represents a piece of the watchmaker’s history. The yellow gold models available are the Big Bang, the Classic Fusion, the Spirit of Big Bang, the Big Bang Unico, and last but not least, the Big Bang Integral.
The Big Bang Sang Bleu II
The Hublot Sang Bleu tale continues in its 7th consecutive year. With three brand-new releases of the Big Bang Sang Bleu II, Hublot is aiming at bringing in a new wave of excitement in the industry. To mark the seventh year of this collaboration, famous tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi picked two iconic materials – Magic Gold and ceramic. The watches are being offered in Magic Gold, black ceramic, and green ceramic.
Bulgari
Adding new colours to the palette and some three-dimensionality to its dials, Bvlgari has introduced some exciting timepieces at the LVMH Watch week 2022.
The Lvcea Intarsio
For Bvlgari, the Lvcea is a round-dialled canvas that has always housed the timeless elegance and marvels of Rome. In its 2022 iteration, Bvlgari takes the sundials of ancient Rome that captured light to signal the passage of time, into a three-dimensional form. Using a marquetry technique called Intarsio, the dial consists of 37 hand-cut blue aventurine micro-elements, this allows a highly unique display of lightwork and reflection that creates the three-dimensional effect.
The 33 mm wide stainless-steel case accommodates a diamond-set bezel and a cabochon-cut rubellite crown. There are 11 diamonds as hour markers. The watch also offers a date window at the three o’clock position. The timepiece is powered by an automatic calibre B77 offering 42 hours of power reserve.
The Octo Roma Blue Carillon Tourbillon
The brand-new Bvlgari Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon combines two conventional complications of the tourbillon and the striking mechanism. Both of these can be viewed through the highly intricate and skeletonised mechanism with blue bridges.
The platinum case has been articulated in a way that it amplifies the sound rendition and retains clarity. The proportions of the case, on the other hand, are created to maximise sound progression.
The movement is fitted with one classical barrel allowing a power reserve of about 75 hours.
Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi
Now, we usually do watches, but this one is a special case. The Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi is a unique as well as svelte creation that presents Bvlgari at its best. The brand-new Serpenti Misteriosi embodies new milestones of miniaturisation as far as high jewellery is concerned. The decorative excellence of the Rome-based Maison is unparallel and that clearly shows in this creation.
On the occasion of the LVMH Watch Week, the Italian Maison has introduced four fresh Serpenti secret watches that revisit the emblematic aesthetic from the 1950s. All these watches are equipped with the new Piccolissimo mechanical movement, an in-house manufactured mechanism that is one of the smallest in the whole world.
