All About Montblanc
There’s something indomitable about European style. Clean, precise, and refined, they seem to have the right approach to design that makes their pieces tick and there’s nothing more Euro than Montblanc, is there?
The iconic brand is as much a symbol of Switzerland as it is a symbol of fine living. Right from its unforgettable logo, it sets the tone for being memorable. Launched in 1906 with its beautifully-made writing instruments, it had gained international prominence by 1924, with the launch of its beloved Meisterstück pen.
The spirit of innovation and modernity infused the brand right from its beginnings, when the founders stationery trader Claus – Johannes Voss, banker Alfred Nehemias and engineer August Eberstein got together to create a fountain pen that encapsulated the spirit of the modern century. This very same derring-do served them well in turn over the years.
Starting from the 80s, the brand was acquired by big players within the luxury space, firstly Dunhill and then the Richemont Group, one of the world’s largest luxury conglomerates, thereby pushing Montblanc’s name further within the galaxy of luxury.
Montblanc launched its line of luxury watches for men and women in 1997, with a callback to its first acclaimed pen, the Meisterstück. Named after this legacy, the watch is modern, with timeless detailing, and was first presented at SIHH that year.
Since then, Montblanc has consistently created watches that reflect its ethos and its legacy beautifully. Here’s to a hundred years more!
