Panerai Launches Two Special Edition Watches To Celebrate Ms Dhoni

Panerai, the renowned Italian watch brand, is known for its technical expertise and exceptional craftsmanship. Founded in 1860 as a workshop and school of watchmaking in Florence, the brand supplied precision instruments to the Italian Navy for many decades thereafter. After its acquisition by the Richmond Group in 1997, designs developed by Panerai were made available to the vast international market. Presently, Panerai develops and crafts its own watches and movements at its Neuchâtel manufacture. They are a perfect amalgamation of Italian design, finesse, and history with reputed Swiss horological expertise.

M.S. Dhoni, a true gentleman and a remarkable athlete, has been a staunch admirer of Panerai for years and became the brand ambassador for Panerai India by the end of 2018. His cricketing skills are recognised and appreciated throughout the world and has given him a lot of international acclaims. Being the captain of the Indian national team for about ten years, he has led the team to great international successes. On 27th November 2019, Panerai launched two new models; the Luminor GMT – 44 mm and the Luminor Chrono Flyback – 44 mm, to celebrate this milestone collaboration with him.

Suggestive of MS Dhoni’s favourite colour, both the watches have a regal green dial in common, which also acts as a tribute to the Indian flag. Another commonality between the models is their case-back. Both models are a stunning tribute to M.S. Dhoni, as both the case-backs bear an inscription of his signature and the number 183, symbolizing his highest score in One-Day International Cricket.

The Luminor GMT – 44 mm has a sturdy stainless steel case making it reliable and tough. On the other hand, the Luminor Chrono Flyback – 44 mm is a magnificent as well as a sophisticated watch with a case made of Goldtech, a gold alloy created by the Panerai Laboratorio di Idee. The new Luminor watches are based on the foundation of a mechanical movement, representing the technical expertise of the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, through two different functions. Each of the new Luminor MS Dhoni watches has a semi-matt black leather strap with green stitching and a steel buckle, along with an additional strap in military green rubber.
