Panerai has released all-new Radiomir watches that flaunt dashing and bold military green dials. These watches have been named ‘Edizione Verde Militare’ which translates to ‘Military Green Edition’ in Italian. The new watches come fitted with matte military styled green dials as they seek to offer a camouflage effect. Panerai has gone for this color because of its reinforcing and iconic status. Not to forget, Panerai itself has a long-running military lineage.
Panerai Presents Four Radiomirs With Military Green Dial
The four interpretations in this release, are unequivocally unique in their features, functions, dimensions, and lastly, the materials of which they are made. However, these watches are conceptually interlinked via a common aesthetic language and design code of the Panerai Radiomir watch. The iconic cushion shaped case and the integrated lugs are reflective and representative of the original Radiomir timepiece of the 1940s.
Three out of the four new references come with a stainless steel case that is 45 mm wide. On the other hand, the fourth reference comes fitted with a matte black ceramic sandblasted case measuring 48 mm in diameter, which happens to be a first for the Radiomir series of watches.
Each of the four timepieces flaunt brilliant matte military green dials complemented by a domed-shaped sapphire crystal. Three of them are fueled by an in-house manufactured automatic calibre, while the matte black ceramic reference is powered by the manually wound calibre, P.3000. All watches offer a power reserve of up to 3 days or 72 hours.
When it comes to Panerai watches, you cannot ignore the water resistance. You just cannot. All the watches possess a water resistance of 100 meters. The timepieces come neatly packed in a satin-finished green cherry wood box and are provided with two different straps. This option consists of a canvas strap in beige colour for the stainless steel versions while the ceramic version gets a black strap. The straps feature two keepers and functional reinforcement inserts in each of the holes in the form of green leather linings.
Let’s take a look at the watches.
Radiomir 45 mm ‘Edizione Verde Militare’ PAM 995
The first watch in this line up is the Panerai Radiomir PAM 995, a watch made out of a 45 mm stainless steel case and fitted with an automatic P.4000 calibre with a micro-rotor. This is the thinnest automatic movement from watchmaker till date. The watch has two hands for hours and minutes and a small seconds hand located at the 9 o’clock marker.
Radiomir GMT ‘Edizione Verde Militare’ PAM 998
This is the second in line among the stainless steel watches. The watch comes in a 45 mm case made of steel. Along with all the features mentioned above, the timepiece has an additional second time zone function, an AM/PM indicator, a power reserve indicator, and lastly, a date display at the 3 o’clock marker. The power reserve indicator is on the movement instead of the dial though.
The timepiece is powered by an automatic calibre, P. 4001. The watch comes fitted with a light brown ‘Assolutamente’ suede leather strap along with an additional beige canvas strap with green stitching.
Radiomir GMT Power Reserve ‘Edizione Verde Militare’ PAM 999
The third watch among the new releases is the Radiomir PAM 999. A major similarity as well as difference in this reference and one and the Radiomir PAM 998 is that the power reserve indicator is located on the dial instead of the movement. This watch too has a date display at the 3 o’clock position, a small seconds, an AM/PM indicator, and a GMT function.
The watch comes with the automatic calibre P. 4002 and a dark brown ‘Ponte Vecchio’ leather strap. There is an additional beige canvas strap as well with contrast green stitching.
Radiomir 48 mm Ceramica ‘Edizione Verde Militare’ PAM 997
Finally we make it to the final reference in the line-up. This is the sandblasted matte black ceramic model that comes in a 48 mm wide case. The timepiece is powered by the manually wound calibre, P.3000.
The watch comes fitted with a black ‘Ponte Vecchio’ leather strap with contrast beige stitching. Needless to say, there is an extra black canvas strap with green stitching. The watch features a DLC-coated titanium trapezoidal clasp in contrary to the polished stainless steel ones as seen on the other three references.
