Apart from being a well-known luxury watchmaker, Hublot also has the knack for being associated with sporting events that are not quite luxury watch-esque. That is, until Hublot took the first step. Cricket got Hublot as its official timekeeper for the first time during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Ever since, the brand has been associated with the sport of cricket. Therefore, when the Swiss horologist announced that it would be the official timekeeper of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, it was no surprise.

The New Hublot Cricket Edition

On the occasion of the 12th edition of the greatest cricketing platform in the world, the ICC World Cup 2019, Hublot has launched a limited edition timepiece, the Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph that commemorates the event. The watch is a 45mm masterpiece made of titanium. It is wittily crafted in a way that it portrays the cricketing spirit. The strap is made of a combination of leather and rubber. It also has red stitch work on it that symbolizes the same type of work done on cricket balls. The 12 o’clock hour marker is in the form of the three stumps that are placed on both ends of the pitch. Other interesting features are the chronograph hand and the small second’s hand that are in the shape of cricket bats.

The case back is made of sapphire crystal and has the markings of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 logo on it. As far as the movement goes, the timepiece operates on the self-winding skeleton chronograph calibre HUB1155. The movement offers a power reserve of 42 hours. All that being said, the watch has a water resistance of 50 meters, with the polished and Satin-finish titanium bezel being the show stopper.

All in all, the watch is a true spectacle that makes it an excellent collectable item. No wonder it is only made in 100 pieces.
