There is nothing much to discuss about Vacheron Constantin other than the fact that it is one of the holy trinity of Swiss Haute Horlogerie. Furthermore, it is one of the oldest as well as most prestigious watch brands to ever exist. Period. Accomplishing what Vacheron Constantin has achieved is not an easy affair. This year at the Watches and Wonders 2020, Vacheron Constantin unveiled the all-new Overseas Self-Winding with a blue dial in pink gold case and bracelet.
The All-New Vacheron Constantin Overseas Self-Winding 2020 With Blue Dial
First Impression
It was, in reality, long overdue for the watch to finally get a blue dial. Watch enthusiasts are not really surprised that this step was taken as they were expecting it. The 41 mm in diameter pink gold case is as ecstatic as ever and the blue dial is a solid aesthetic add-on. The number of bracelet options has also increased to three. You have the blue leather, the blue rubber, and finally, the gorgeous pink gold bracelet.
In terms of what buyers will get from the new addition, nothing substantial has changed. Of course, the watch got a blue dial and it is now available with a pink gold bracelet to spice things up a tad bit but the functionality remains absolutely unchanged. The timepiece is 41 mm wide, 11 mm thick, and offers a 150 -meter water resistance. The automatic calibre 5100 works just fine and the sapphire crystal case back allows people to adore the watch’s heart in all its glory.
Getting Into The Details
The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Self-Winding Ref. 4500V/110R-B705 is 41 mm in diameter and 11 mm in case thickness. The case is made of 18-carat 5N pink gold whilst the dial displays a blue lacquered satin aesthetic. The watch has applied indices and luminescent hands. The 150-meter water resistance is a little peculiar but apt for a dress watch.
The timepiece comes with an option between an 18-carat pink gold bracelet, a blue leather strap, and a blue rubber strap. The watch’s tool-less mechanism allows users to easily switch between straps without any hassle, which is a huge bonus in today’s time.
The movement used in the watch is the automatic Calibre 5100 that offer up to 60 hours of power reserve whilst beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Honest Opinion
The timepiece stays loyal to the Overseas collection design language which was essentially revamped back in the year 2016. The bezel of the Overseas Self-Winding displays a familiar hexagonal shape that resembles the Maltese cross, the official symbol of the Vacheron Constantin brand. For those who do not know, Maltese is a reference to Malta. the symbol is associated with the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. However, it can also be found on the emblems many organizations.
What strikes the eye the most about this watch is the blue lacquered dial and the 18-carat pink gold bracelet. Users can use the strap of their choice as they have options available in the form of leather as well as rubber. I, however, really find the pink gold bracelet very impressive. The integrated pink gold bracelet is a first for the watch and it is bound to do wonders.
The dial, on the other hand, is also a bonus for the watch. Be it the sunburst satin finished center, the velvet-finished minute circle, or the circular satin finished flange, everything falls right in place. The timepiece is a delight in every way as it is capable of tackling every occasion, event, or get-together with ease. Vacheron Constantin has once again hit bull’s eye with its new release, something that is expected from the Swiss luxury watchmaking royalty.
