Wrist Diaries

Founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in Switzerland, Omega is till date considered one of the best luxury watch brands in the world, not to mention the timeless design of its collections which has made it among the style and fashion favorites of watch connoisseurs across the globe. Famous for travelling to the Moon, timing the Olympics, diving with Jacques Cousteau, performing the world’s deepest dive (10,928 meters) to the very bottom of the Mariana Trench with the Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep Professional all the while meeting Master Chronometer standards, there isn't a feat that Omega hasn’t achieved.

Omega invests heavily on its tool watches that are today the very definition of Swiss Haute Horlogerie. Watches such as the Seamaster and Speedmaster are arguably the most recognised names in watch enthusiast circles. Omega Speedmaster became the first watch to be qualified by NASA for space flight. This legendary watch was used on all NASA piloted missions, including all six lunar landings.

“Exact time for life” pretty much sums up everything that Omega stands for. Omega has also been the prefered choice for militaries around the world, the Olympic Games, NASA and most recently, James Bond. In the list of affiliations to famous organisations, Omega has been involved with the Olympic Games since 1932 when it became the official timekeeper for the Los Angeles Games. The United States of America made Omega the official timekeeper for their army in 1918, giving Omega a highly significant responsibility of making durable and lightweight watches. Omega was picked by NASA for the Apollo 11 mission. In 1969, Speedmaster Professional Chronograph became the first watch to be ever worn on the moon by Buzz Aldrin.

The prices of Omega watches in India are competitively set to justify the top-of-the-line materials used and the excellent craftsmanship that goes into making each of their fine watches. A few of the Omega women’s watches available in India are the Omega Constellation, Omega De Ville and Omega Seamaster. Be sure to check these timepieces out.

Omega Constellation

The Omega Constellation is a cornerstone of Omega’s success story over the years. Of course, there are a multitude of factors that have contributed to the brand’s overall triumph in the industry but the Constellation collection has had its fair share of role to play. The watch collection was first launched in 1952 and was named after the Constellation Jet that took flight in World War II. The Omega Constellation of today is a fine piece of craftsmanship, artisanship, and good old Swiss horology.

Omega De Ville

The De Ville collection was launched in 1967 and ever since then it has done a remarkable job in encapsulating the very spirit of sophistication and elegance. The De Ville aimed at providing an alternative to sports watches and dress watches. It was the firm middle-ground where both the worlds collided and formed something new and special. The watches are basically characterised by a simplistic design language, top-notch movements, and limitless class.

Omega Seamaster

The Omega Seamaster is the embodiment of apex craftsmanship and art. Not only is it the longest running watch in the Omega brand catalogue, it is also one of the oldest watch collections in the entire Swiss luxury watch business. The Seamaster’s legacy began in 1948 when it was introduced to the world along with the wonders of the O-Ring gasket. This waterproof seal propelled the watch and placed it among names like the Oyster. Today, the watch is arguably the most holistic and functional tool watch there is.

Omega Speedmaster

Omega is globally known for chronographs and this watch is the reason. The Omega Speedmaster was introduced to the world in 1957, a year that was the beginning of much greater things to come. The Speedmaster is also widely popular for being the first watch to go to the moon and make it back to Earth. Hence, the name ‘Moonwatch’. The Omega Speedmaster has grown a lot over the years and is today a watch worthy of the flagship status.
